I loved Kate and Darius’ love story in Naughty All Night by Jennifer Bernard, book five in her Lost Harbor, Alaska series. Kate Robinson had a tendency to find trouble especially since she was a teen during her summertime visits to Lost Harbor, Alaska and her grandmother’s peony farm. This was her safe place; the only place to go when major trouble chases her out of California and destroys her legal career. After arriving Kate discovers her grandmother rented out her home. So like any good lawyer, Kate tries to evict the tenant; so what if it angers the locals. Fire Chief Darius Boone already had an overflowing plate and didn’t need to add landlady problems to it; despite enjoying his battles with C. Robinson, Attorney-at-Law. To top it off, there have been a number of small, harmless fires breaking out around Lost Harbor; that seem to be growing in frequency. Darius has found that the only thing keeping him sane is the beautiful Kate and getting naughty with her, in only the best way possible. Kate has no idea how she should handle the “hottie fire chief” but having some harmless. Naughty fun sounds reasonable. Darius and Kate never expected the heat and electricity they generated could keep the town running and warm all winter. Their sizzling chemistry and attraction are causing more problems as neither of them planned on developing feelings and falling in love. Ms. Bernard wrote an amazing, emotional, humorous, and magical story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with kindness, magnetic attraction, off the charts chemistry, amusing conversations, and endearing characters pushing Kate and Darius out of their comfort zones and finding a forever love. I highly recommend Naughty All Night to other readers and can’t wait for the next story in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Kate, a hot shot attorney in Los Angeles, finds herself stuck in the mud on the side of the rode on her way to Lost Harbor. Kate left LA in a hurry, afraid for her life. So she’s not exactly prepared for mud season in Alaska. In her high heels and leather jacket, she makes for an interesting site when Darius stops to help. Not sure whether to trust Darius, she “arms” herself with bear spray. Although Darius finds Kate attractive and amusing, he also KNOWS she’s high maintenance—especially when she takes off without so much as a thank you. So he heads off to perform his set at the local bar. Darius, the new Fire Chief of Lost Harbor, considers himself somewhat “broken” in the love/relationship department. Having been married and divorced twice, he’s vowed to NEVER give his heart to anyone again. When quirky Kate stumbles into his life, he might just have to change his plans. She’s funny, talkative, kind, and a hard worker (she helps her grandmother out at the peony farm). And she’s somehow worked her way under Darius’ skin. When a string of mysterious fires breaks out, Kate believes trouble has followed her from LA to Lost Harbor. She can't and won’t allow anything to happen to the town and family she loves. So she makes plans to leave... Kate, Darius, and the Kama Sutra rug were hilarious! Kate’s ability to talk about everything and nothing at the same time was humorous. I loved the unique twist at the end. I thought I had the mystery figured out, but was so wonderfully wrong! LOVED the story and can’t wait to read Maya’s story. This is a complete stand-alone and you do not have to read the other novels to understand the story. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

NAUGHTY ALL NIGHT is the fifth in Jennifer Bernard's Lost Harbor, Alaska, series, and stands well alone. Kate Robinson earned her teenage nickname of Naughty Kate by pushing the usual boundaries, but she's put all that behind her. Lost Harbor's the only real home she's had, with her loving but eccentric grandmother Emma. So when she run into REAL trouble, she naturally heads home to Petal to the Metal, Emma's peony farm. But apparently her grandmother's rented out her place. Good thing Kate's got the legal background to work on getting this interloper evicted, even if doesn't exactly put her in the town's good graces. One D. Boone, aka fire chief Darius Boone, isn't exactly looking for any kind of trouble. A series of nuisance fires has his department hopping, and now apparently his landlady is looking to give him the boot. One bright spot is crossing paths with the lovely Kate, who's reminding him he isn't exactly dead yet. Jennifer Bernard's Naughty All Night is a page turner in all the best ways. Kate and Darius and the people of Lost Harbor make for a charming and utterly captivating community, and Kate and Darius's pasts keep them both on the move. A fast-moving plot and terrific characterizations make Naughty All Night a read you can't put down. I read this having missed a couple of previous books in the series, but had no trouble keeping up. I can't wait to go back and see what I missed though! A fantastic read!
