The Master’s Child is a series of 9 books and Natale is the 9th in the series. Overall, this series is but one part of a larger saga (Mastering the Virgin) chronicling the lives, loves, good times and bad, of a young woman, the two men she loves, and of other family and friends too. Love is the great lynchpin of this saga, and of this latest book. The author is so skilled at giving us scenes of soul-scorching passion (sprinkled with erotic BDSM kink), as well as intimate scenes of profoundly loving devotion. The sex scenes are compelling and beautiful but, as I said, love is the core. And the story grows and blossoms around that core. This is a Romantic Thriller-Suspense tale. The author has a talent for building suspense so well it is, literally, breathtaking. The alarm creeps up, and creeps up, until you suddenly find you’ve been holding your breath and clenching your fists, and you expect that wave of fear to swallow you whole! I also enjoyed the pacing in this story. You are given a full view of all events in the tale and it moves along nicely. I love the multi-character points of view. It’s not repetitive but, written this way, you are allowed to experience the story from all angles. That deepens the story for me. The characters are engrossing, delightful and, at times, intriguing, even maddening. I want to meet them, be friends with them—have wanted to since the beginning of this saga. No need to say it but I will: I can’t wait until the next series in the saga begins. This book is a 5-star read!

Ohhhh my! It all comes full circle and what an emotional ride!!! I wouldn’t have thought it possible for Simone Leigh to surprise me even more with such an enormous mixture of emotions! I’m astounded how my heart could literally be aching to the point of tears in one chapter and then burning up with one of the sweetest loving heartfelt scenes between Charlotte and James! Then before my tears could even dry, I was tossed back into Larry’s demising situation and witnessing such a horrific gross scene through his eyes and shivering along with it and almost tossing my cookies! Yuck! It definitely took a couple shots of whiskey to get me through that part! My feelings stayed on constant overload from worried, sad, uneasy, suspense, yucky detailed grotesque visuals, intense situations and just so much anguish!!! Plus of course the laughter and HAF sexual scenes that had me going up in flames along with them! Whew!!! I actually found myself laughing out loud at the... naaa I’m not gonna spoil it for you! Just prepare yourself for an intensely almost indescribable, rollercoaster ride of fear, confusion, horror, suspense and finally euphoria!

Wow! Such a good end to the series. This book had tons of drama and mystery, but above all else it contained plenty of steam, just like all of the author's books. I can't wait to see what comes in the next story about the triad and their extended family. This book actually leaves hints of events or problems that could arise in future books. I really hope Michael gets a child eventually and I hope in the end that everyone will get their happy ending. This was such a good book! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
