I can always count on Nana Malone to give me wonderful characters and a story I can get lost in, and I certainly found that here. Roone is all alpha male and has the attitude to back it up, and Jessa has enough sass to keep him on his toes, which makes for terrific banter and wit. There's also plenty of chemistry between this pair, so of course, they generate lots of steam no matter how hard they try to avoid it. There's just a couple of problems with that - Jessa is royalty and Roone's best friend's sister, a double whammy on the no-no scale. If you're familiar with the author's past Royal duets, you already know there's still danger lurking in the shadows and Roone's focus is supposed to be on protecting Jessa, so we get some danger with our romance. There's also another possible threat, plus the fact that Jessa doesn't trust easily. This is the beginning of a duet, so expect a cliffy that leaves you chomping at the bit for what comes next. All in all, another great couple in another entertaining story from this author.

I want to give it 5 stars but what I would call a cliffhanger left me wanting more and with no resolution I am hesitant to do so. . . Page turner. Fun. Royal. Beauty. Excitement. Nana Malone has done it all over again. This time we get a royal she. . . Jessa was all that was strong, independent, smart, sassy, sexy, feisty, self-assured . . . and a challenge for one Roone. These two together find that this was not just a simple little game of life. There was so much more. Dive in and see what Jessa and Roone have to show you and do be ready to be on the edge. There will be more to come.

The start of a new series called Royals United it is well-written and held my interest throughout a book I found myself smiling with. Jessa and Roone's story has intrigue, suspense, danger, secrets, and ends on a cliff-hanger. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
