Good book. Needs work though. Could be a great series but the author needs to slow down a bit and develop instead of rushing things. This author is very creative and has a lot of interesting ideas just needs to pare them down and expand upon them one at a time. These men can jump tall buildings but never does she expand upon that, also they are super strong but you never really see her expand that idea or show case it. Yet this would help develop these charectors. A good editor could make a best seller.

I was lured by the synopsis which was more exciting than the book. The story line was good and the book could have been exciting. I was into the book as it was building up and then Tordin and Kyra met and had this so called "connection" with a dash of chemistry then it became boring and she was such an immatured needy 29 year old woman. I found it so disappointing and reluctant to buy the 2nd book.

A strong, intelligent woman who holds her own a protects those she loves. Why can't more authors give us these characters? I understand the need to create conflict in a book, but I'm tired of overreacting women who won't speak their mind, except in bed. This book is well written and a gem of a story. I've already invested in the next 3 books, because writing like this needs rewarded. As a Black woman, I recognized Kyra's way of speaking as common to our culture. It doesn't surprise me that those with little exposure to our culture would see it as something else. For me, it was spot on in the way we interact, especially with those we are close to and comfortable with. When a man like Eddie Murphy does it, it's funny. When a woman does it, it's immature. No double standard there.
