Never Let You Go is the second book in the Never Tear Us Apart series. Betrayal, heartbreak, secrets, evil, forgiveness and healing all play a part in the relationship between Katie and Ethan. Brought together by darkness for a short while they anchored each other. Ethan made some questionable choices but he was a scared kid in a tough situation. Love makes a person do crazy things and the lack of it can make a person insecure and willing to do anything to receive it. There is no true hero in this story but it makes for a compelling read. Amazing that out of all the shadows grew something that bordered on beauty.

Indeed this story is the kind of stories that you just can't forget... at all! This second book is the conclusion of the "Never Tear Us Apart" series. And it was a brilliant conclusion, I must say. This book begins exactly were the last one ended. The discovery that Ethan is also Will, it blows Katie's brain and heart. Why the hell didn't he told her the truth since the very start? I can understand her deception and anger. It's not easy to acept that the one that you're beginning to like is the same one that you've been thinking and waiting for so long. But, on the other hand, she admits that she can't be so hard on him (thank God). They had the same twisted past, caused by the same twisted person: his father. So, they should be with each other. Right? No one better than them could know what it's like to have a traumatic past, and I guess that for the two of them it was really more easier to endure as a couple, although most pf people would think that it was a twisted relationship. But who cares about what other people say or think? It was on the first book that I became a big fan of this couple, but it was in this second book that we really enter their hearts and thoughts. Most of all this is a story that teaches us that love can cure everything, if it is strong enough. And their love really is strong. It remained for the last eight years, even tough they were not together. Ethan/Will is a character full of love to give, but also full of traumas, sadness and hurt. He just can't be anyone else but the one who has such an unwavering for Katie, since the first moment he layed his eyes on her. Sometimes, this unwavering love can break our hearts, because he is so pure in giving and showing his love to her, that we start to think that he's going to get really hurt if she can't give so much love to him. It's really hard to see them both apart and I'm guessing that Molly, the beautifull dog that they pick up at the kenel, is going to be a great bond between them. She's like a neutral subject, a neutral item, that's not related to their past at all and it helps them to ease the hard and stressed moments between them. Hated Aaron (Will's father) and that mean Lisa (the journalist that fucked up every step of the way). A man full of evil and madness, a man who is incapable of love no matter who. A man that lost his son, the one who he should protect the most, his decency, his life, over his obsession about litlle girls and nowadays, the revenge towards Katie. Lisa, by her side, isn't much better. She manipulates people, emotions and facts on behalf of fame and TV ratings. A selfish woman who has no right to destroy others lifes and relations. Two hatefull characters, but without them the story would not have been the same :) The more I read from Monica Murphy, the more I want to read more and more of her books, because she really has a great gift of making us enter on the stories she creates. Thank you for that, Monica. This is a book full of intense sentences from Ethan/Will, from Katie that I could just not refere them here: "Ethan. Will. The boy of my past. The man of my future. The one I can never, ever let go." "He gave me light when all I'd ever felt was darkness" "I cry for what I’ve lost. I cry for what I’ve found." “I know we can’t be together. It will never work out for us, Katie. I realize that. But for that tiny amount of time that we were together and happy, it was the best time of my life” “I’ll take whatever scrapes you want to give me, though deep down, it’ll never be enough” “Never will ruin us. I will never let you go, Katie. Ever. It’s like you’re embedded in my very soul”

The unbelievably emotional conclusion to Katie and Will's story that was started in Never Tear Us Apart. This is part II and you really need to read both books in order for the whole story to make sense. After discovering Ethan's true identity, Katie turns back to the comfort and stability of her mother and sister. It's not long though before she can no longer deny the facts. She needs Ethan/Will in her life. Moving through the mire of emotions as well as dealing with the media fascination and her family's disapproval makes rebuilding their relationship difficult but they are both determined to make it work. This book is very well done and will have you reading late into the night. I highly recommend this two book series to everyone.
