About this ebook

Two hundred recipes for anyone who needs to avoid wheat or gluten, from appetizers to main dishes to desserts.

If you suffer from gluten allergy or intolerance (Coeliac disease), or wheat intolerance, then you probably know the only treatment for either of these debilitating conditions is a gluten-free and wheat-free diet—this means eliminating bread, biscuits, crackers, cakes, pastry, pasta, breadcrumbs, semolina, and food cooked in batter, as well as many tinned, packaged and processed foods—foods which usually form the greater part of a normal day-to-day diet.

Fortunately, there are a lot of delicious alternatives—and this cookbook offers a wide range of recipes including Sweet Potato Soup with Coriander and Ginger; Polenta with Gorgonzola; Terrine of Chicken and Walnuts; Salmon Mousse with Green Peppercorns; and much more. With helpful health information included as well, this is an ideal resource for people with these conditions.

About the author

Michelle Berriedale-Johnson is an expert on food allergies and intolerances. She has spent all her career in the food business, first as a caterer then as a journalist and food writer. She became interested in special diets over 20 years ago when her son was diagnosed as being dairy intolerant. She set up a food company, Berrydales, specialising in additive free, dairy free, gluten free and egg free foods and a quarterly magazine, The Inside Story, about dietary problems. In 2000 The Inside Story, was re-named Foods Matter, and became a subscription magazine supporting anyone with a food allergy, food intolerance or living on a free-from diet. Foods Matter has now become an online magazine and portal www.foodsmatter.com. Michelle is also the author of one of Grub Street’s best-selling books The Everyday Wheat-Free and Gluten-Free Cookbook.
