Insa lupta nu se încheie la finalul cartii, ci continua In urmatoarea – „Doamna în alb, doamna în negru“, ultima din serie –, amintind istoricele razbunari de tip vendetta, care aveau loc la Inceputul veacului al XIX-lea In Corsica (tinutul natal al autorului)
