An amazing read about a chapter of Australian History I never knew about. In reading this account of the Battle of Milne Bay, I identified lessons on leadership, communication, planning and the execution of plans, both good and bad. But what stood out most was the unwavering, unflappable spririt of service, purpose and sacrifice. What an amazing group of men they were, I am truly grateful for all they did. I am grateful too for the author, for beinging this story to my attention, 77 years on.

He lives in the Yarra Valley, outside Melbourne.
