Prof Michael Mutingi is an Associate Professor in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management at the Namibia University of Science and Technology. He is actively involved in the university's Higher Degrees Committee, overseeing quality assurance in postgraduate studies. With a DEng in Engineering Management focused on healthcare operations management from the University of Johannesburg, he also holds MEng and BEng degrees from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe. Prof Mutingi's research interests span healthcare operations management, digital business transformation, simulation modeling, bio-inspired metaheuristic optimization, multi-criteria decision analysis, and supply chain management. He has played a crucial role in various industry research projects and is a member of professional organizations such as the South African Institute of Industrial Engineering (SAIIE) and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Additionally, he has supervised over 60 master's students and 2 PhD students, receiving multiple research awards and publishing extensively, including three books and over 120 articles in reputable international journals and conference proceedings. Notable achievements include best paper awards at international conferences such as the 2013 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management in Hong Kong and the 2014 World Congress on Engineering and Computer Science in San Francisco.
