Erstmals wurden alle erhaltenen griechischen Handschriften vollständig kollationiert und ausgewertet. Über die Klärung der Abhängigkeitsverhältnisse der einzelnen Textzeugen hinaus liefert die Recensio einen Beitrag zur Geschichte des Textes und deren kulturhistorischen Hintergründen.
