Content-wise, this book was nearly perfect for what I was looking for at this price - a gentle intro to the core ideas of Spring for a Java developer. The book reads more like a tutorial or technical article than a textbook, which was also nice. An 80-page ebook can obviously only provide limited details, but I thought the last two chapters were fitting as a teaser for more advanced features of Spring. I've moved on to a much more detailed book about persistence,"Spring Persistence - A Running Start", and have had no problems diving in this more advanced book. All of that said, however, I have never read a book which was this poorly edited. I found myself tripping over easily caught grammatical issues on nearly every page: subject/verb agreement, missing articles, incomplete sentences, incorrect words ("advice you to ..."?), etc. I found that very disappointing - otherwise this review would be a 5*.

This is the worst edited and proofed O'reily book I've read, and I've read many, but the content provides a solid, if simplistic, introduction to how Spring works.
