About this ebook

A thrilling, character-driven space opera adventure series by science fiction author M.G. Herron.

Lost in a galaxy of grief

Shipped off to Polar Prep Fleet Academy, Casey grieves the death of her mother while struggling to find a place among her peers.

She hates it. Why did her father have to send her away? It feels like he doesn't love her anymore.

With the memory of her mom festering like a raw wound, Casey's experience at school goes from bad to worse when she stands up to Renata Spector, the popular mean girl.

It turns out that people at Polar Prep are not what they seem, and the only one looking out for Casey is herself. To survive Renata's torments, and keep her fragile existence from tumbling down around her ears, Casey has to be braver than she's ever been.

Or risk losing herself altogether.

Raptor is the second novella in the Starfighter Origins space opera adventure series. For fans of space fleet and galactic empire sci-fi, as well as readers of Orson Scott Card, Larry Niven, Robert Heinlein, and John Scalzi. This action-packed, character-driven science fiction adventure is filled with lovable bots, and interstellar war, and a very personal conflict between a young woman and grief.

After you read this, try M.G. Herron's Relics of the Ancients series, where Casey's adventures as a starfighter pilot in the Solaran Fleet continue. Enjoy!

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A necessary origins series to read. As prequels they give us a background of the characters in the main series with a broad perspective and insight to their previous lives. Highly recommended!
