About this eBook

Two men with trust issues find a second chance at love in this slow burn western romance.

Welcome to Clean Slate Ranch: Home of tight jeans, cowboy boots and rough trails. For some men, it’s a fantasy come true.

Shawn Matthews never imagined he’d be living out of his car, trying to make ends meet, but life doesn’t always go your way—he knows that better than most. When an accident leaves the Clean Slate Ranch shorthanded, Shawn is enlisted to help cook and finds himself bunked next to the sexiest cowboy he’s ever laid eyes on.

The first time Robin Butler spots the new chef, he thinks he’s seeing an actual ghost. Shawn is the spitting image of his late husband, and it spooks the hell out of him. The former rodeo-star-turned-ranch-hand does his best to avoid the soft-spoken cook—except it’s kind of tough when the man makes the best damn grub this side of the Mississippi and has a boy-next-door charm that’s impossible to resist.

Even though the tension between them practically sizzles, Shawn doesn’t do hookups and Robin isn’t ready for a new relationship. Besides, Robin can tell Shawn’s been hurt and deserves a partner who isn’t saddled with a tragic past. But chemistry doesn’t lie. Maybe finding each other—and a second chance at love—is the lucky break they both need.

“[A] passionate, trope-heavy romance . . . scintillating romantic tension and steamy sex scenes.” —Publishers Weekly on Hard Ride

A wonderful addition to A.M. Arthur’s Clean Slate Ranch series, Lucky Break is just as unique as each of the previous stories in this series. While all the Clean Slate books could be read as standalones, the friendships build as the story progresses and I think you’d enjoy them better when read in order. Opposites attract with a bit of an age gap, Lucky Break is a romantic, slow burn romance. The chemistry between the men is clear from the start, but both of the main characters have some serious issues in their pasts which they’re having trouble moving past. As their relationship progresses and the men strive to find more physical intimacy, they start to open up and disclose some of their secrets. It takes the entire novel for these two to finally come completely clean with each other over all of their past troubles, but A.M. Arthur throws in some great curveballs, and the story flows beautifully. Trust me, once you pick up Lucky Break, you won’t be putting it down.

He never imagined he’d be living out his car trying to make ends meet, but life doesn’t always go your way and Shawn Matthews knows that better than most. An accident has Shawn bunking next to the sexiest cowboy he’s ever laid eyes on. Shawn is the spitting image of Robin Butler’s late husband, so he does his best to avoid the soft-spoken cook. The tension between them practically sizzles and maybe finding each other – and a second chance at love- is the lucky break they both need. An emotionally gripping romance where both heroes have traumatic pasts that while of different types, has left emotional scarring that overwhelming impacts their present and readers can’t help but become caught up in the angst that flows from the pages and Shawn and Robin strive to overcome those issues and open up their hearts to each other. Lots of sizzling chemistry and attraction singes the pages throughout this heartfelt romance igniting passions and hope. The plot is steady pace with lots of tension and suspense that keeps readers glued to the pages. And when a heartbreaking event turns things around for this couple, readers can’t help but emotionally impacted as well as they shed a few tears. This romance also gives readers a sense of family and loyalty as the cowboys that make this ranch home strive to make their lives better which warms the heart and along with some chuckle worthy dialogue between those cowboys adds cheer, hope and laughter, making it easy for readers to want to visit the Clean Slate Ranch again and again.

Heartbreakingly Wounded ~ Perfect Couple! Third-person POV Age-gap (approximately 8 years). Possible triggers: Widower, death wish, sexual contact with a minor, homelessness, traumatic flashbacks Former rodeo star, Robin, left the circuit and his nomadic family behind after a tragic accident took his husband's life. Consumed by guilt and grief, Robin was near death himself when the ranch owner and foreman found him and brought him to Clean Slate for a second chance at life. Shawn does all he can to cut expenses so he can help provide for the grandparents that mean so much to him. Living out of his vehicle for the past few years has been his secret to bear, one not even his good friend knows. An unfortunate accident and a timely discovery create a fateful circumstance that will allow two wounded souls to slowly and carefully begin forming a bond that neither seems to realize they've been needing. This is a big story. All the former cast members are present of mentioned so for maximum enjoyment, I'd recommend the series be read in order. Slow burn. Sweet and sexy. Dramatic and Dynamic. A solid ending. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. About the author

A. M. Arthur has been creating stories in her head since she was a child and scribbling them down nearly as long. She credits an early fascination with male friendships and "bromance" with her later discovery of, and subsequent affair with, m/m romance stories. She is the author of numerous novels, including Cost of Repairs, Come What May, No Such Thing, the Perspectives series, and the Restoration series. This spicier side of narrator Greg Tremblay brings a passion for strong plots and simmering love scenes. Honoring Greg's ancestors who split from the Tremblay clan to seek the heat of the Bayou, Greg Boudreaux seeks to deliver characters to make you swoon and love scenes to make you blush.
