About this ebook

A grumpy boss romantic comedy with a retired rugby player the woman who stands up to him!

That surly ex-rugby player making a ruckus in the dark corner of the bar I work at? Yeah, I try to avoid him. Too bad he’s my boss.

I thought I was grumpy AF but I’ve met my match. Tane Parata has two moods when I see him in the bar he co-owns with his sister: grouchy in a dark corner or reliving his rugby days with a rowdy group that likes to cause trouble. I try to avoid him at all costs—the last thing I need is more male drama in my life after my stalker ex. He's why I came to New Zealand—to escape.

When my closest friend in the country—who happens to be Tane’s sister—asks me for a huge favor, I can’t say no. Now I’m Tane’s fake date to a family wedding, and it turns out he is trying to turn his life around.

Adventuring around New Zealand opens my eyes to more than just Lord of the Rings fandom and sheep. I didn’t expect to fall in love with the country…or Tane.

Claire is doing her best to do her job when a very large, very intoxicated Tane decides he wants behind the bar Claire needs this job and she isn't one to back down when she believes she is right even when her chances of survival are not that good Things go from confrontational to full contact to wo/man down As far as first impressions go - this one leaves its mark This is a slow build sort of finding oneself amid life's turmoils romance. Both our characters are at crossroads in their lives Claire is waiting out (it will make sense when you read it ) her past and while doing so has been presented with a unique chance at seeing her/the world a bit differently (?) Tane's glory days have come to a close. Currently, he is using alcohol as a way to "process and accept" all the changes in his life Not quite working the way he thought it would After their first clash (?) Claire and Tane find themselves building a sort of "bond-ship" as they maneuver their way through life's storms - always good to swim with a buddy That friendship slowly blossoms into more This was an easy to follow storyline with some hilarious moments, light angst, some great personal growth rounded out with the sweetest self-discoveries and of course romance Beautiful world-building Solid characters, both main and supporting, that I easily connected with I did wish there was a bit more detail and/or background when it came to certain issues and scenes but that is a "me" thing

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. The Love And Wanderlust series continues with Claire and Tane. These two have their own baggage and pasts that they are running from. Claire is working at the bar that Tane and his sister own. She is temporarily in the country to get away from trouble. He is trying to decide where to go with his life after the end of his career. These two rub each other wrong and then are thrust together. Their story has plenty of laughs, friendship, family, some drama, obstacles, passion and love. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

4.5 Stars for The Player in New Zealand (Live and Wanderlust #4) This is the first book I have read by Liz Alden but it certainly won’t be the last. If you are looking for a fun, entertaining journey with a wonderful descriptions of New Zealand look no further than Tane and Claire’s story. Claire needs to escape a stalker so a new temporary job in New Zealand has come along at just the right time and it’s in New Zealand that she meets Tane, an ex rugby player who still lives life to the fullest. But when Tane needs a date for a wedding it’s Claire who steps up but what happens when she realises this actually feels right, could they go from fake dating to real love…… This book has it all, you will smile, you will swoon and at times you will find yourself gasping and holding your breath , this author is very talented and she paints pictures with her words and honestly i was left wanting to book myself in the next flight to Auckland. The characters are easy to bond with and their journey is captivating, the chemistry is sizzling and the banter is witty so I guess all I need to say is please one this gem, you won’t be disappointed.
