About this ebook

If you loved Big Little Lies, your new obsession is here...

’Deliciously chilling and creepy’ Lee Child

Secrets, lies, betrayal...and murder.

Dr Kate English has it all. Not only is she heiress to a large fortune, she has a gorgeous husband and daughter, a high-flying career and a beautiful mansion anyone would be jealous of.

But all that is about to change. One night, Kate’s mother is found dead, murdered in her own home. And then Kate receives a message: You think you’re sad now, just wait...

Evidently, all is not as it seems in Baltimore high society, and as scandals, infidelities and betrayals are exposed, tensions rise to boiling point.

The murderer could be anyone – friend, neighbour, lover, relative. And Kate is next on their list...

Perfect for fans of B. A. Paris, Shari Lapena and Liane Moriarty

Kate and Blaire, once the best of friends and inseparable as teenagers have a falling out on the day of Kate’s wedding to Simon due to Blaire’s distaste in Kate’s choice of husband. 15 years later the pair are brought back together again under tragic circumstances for the funeral of Kate’s mother Lily who was murdered. Not coping with her mother’s passing, and the stress of knowing that someone murdered her mother, Kate takes some time out from her medical practice as a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon and reacquaints herself with Blaire, who she leans on for support and who also needs comfort as Lily was also a mother figure to her when growing up. But it isn’t long until Kate starts to receive sinister messages containing creepy nursery rhymes and unwanted gifts of the dead animal kind, that she fears that whoever killed her mother could also be after her next! Happy to be back in Kate’s life, and taking advantage of the rocky relationship that Kate now has with Simon, Blaire takes it upon her self to investigate who could be responsible for Lily’s murder and who is behind the messages Kate has been receiving. When Blaire finds out that Simon’s company is in financial disarray it doesn’t take her long to pin Simon as the culprit. But not everyone is happy that Blaire is back in Kate’s life, no more so than Simon. Trying to get his marriage to Kate back on track but having Blaire constantly in Kate’s ear convincing her that he is having an affair with an employee, is Blaire to be trusted or does she have a hidden agenda? Then a whole other can of worms is open when it is revealed at the reading of Lily’s will that she wanted to make a change to it, but was killed before she had the chance to do so. Could this be the reason that Lily was murdered? With The Last Mrs Parrish being in my top five books for last year, I was excited when I heard that this book was coming and it did not disappoint A tale of revenge, betrayal, mystery and suspense with many possible outcomes, that all leads to a heart pounding ending that you don’t see coming, what could be better! I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from Liv Constantine in the future. I rate this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ All opinions are my own and are not biased in any way.
