This tempting prequel gives you a small taste of what to expect from Langston & Liesel's upcoming story. This book left me thinking that these two are in for quite a twisted and emotional ride, filled with plenty of questions, turns, drama and intensity. This novella length read does leave you with a open ending that has you feeling intrigued and eager to read Vicious Lies when it releases.

This is the story of how Langston and Liesel met at five. They were neighbors in a run-down neighborhood. They were always hungry and Langston was always beat by his father. They had nicknames for one another that would prove true later in life. The story takes us through until they are 18. The horror they suffered will shape the people they become. Langston, Liesel, Enzo and Zeke form the beginnings of the group they call family. They are closer than blood family and no one will separate them. Now, Langston and Liesel each hold a half of a huge lie that could cost them everything~ What will happen? This ends in a cliffhanger…I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

I was so glad that Langston and Liesel got their own story. After reading about them in the Truth or Lies and the Sinful Truths Series I wondered about their relationship. They met as children both from abusive and neglected households. After he learned he was moving, Langston had a misunderstanding with Liesel and cut all ties to her. He called her the Huntress and she called him Killer (because he killed a spider for her!) When they found each other in high school, he was indeed a killer. I can’t wait until the next book about them, Vicious Lies. If you haven’t read the previous series I mentioned, you definitely need to add them to your TBR. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
