Laura Dockrill hat vor Darcy Burdock schon Bücher für Erwachsene geschrieben. Als während einer Lesung dann fünfzig Kinder die Bühne stürmten, war sie davon so begeistert, dass sie beschloss, als nächstes ein Buch für junge Leser zu schreiben und zu zeichnen. Mit ihrem Mann lebt sie in London.
