Der vorliegende Band bietet eine kritische Edition des lateinischen Textes einer anonymen, wohl mittelitalischen Mönchs- bzw. Klosterregel aus dem frühen 6. Jh. nach den erhaltenen handschriftlichen Zeugen. Der Text war Anregung und Vorlage der – stark gekürzt und modernisiert – heute noch weltweit beachteten Regel des Benedikt von Nursia etwa aus der Mitte desselben Jh. für seine Gründungen Subiaco und Monte Cassino.
About the author
Klaus Zelzer, geb. 1936 in Wien, war dort bis 2001 a.o. Professor für Klassische Philologie; sein Interesse galt vor allem antiken lateinischen christlichen Autoren und der Überlieferung ihrer Werke.
