Über dieses E-Book

'We Indians don't know how to laugh naturally. We must be taught how to do so and also how to laugh at ourselves. We are such funny people but are not able to see our funny sides.

So how do we explain the success of this series of joke books? Or the popularity of professional jokers like Tanali Raman, Birbal and Gopal Bhore of older times along with Navjot Sidhu, Jaspal Bhatti and saas-bahu serials in our print and electronic media? Why do laughter clubs flourish in our towns and cities?

The answer is simple: people know that laughter is the elixir of life. The best tonic to ensure good and happy life.

So have lots of laughter with Joke Book 8!' — Khushwant Singh

Khushwant Singh is undoubtedly India’s best known journalist and syndicated columnist. In the words of his son Rahul Singh, Khushwant Singh, in his long and distinguished career, ‘has tried his hand at almost anything that came his way. In between, he has often been jobless. And now he does what he enjoys the most: writing, provoking and making people laugh.’

Born in 1915, Khushwant Singh received his education in Lahore, Delhi and London. He is best known for his award winning novel, Train to Pakistan and the two- volumed History of the Sikhs, although his Joke Books remain his bestsellers.
