I really love the Las Vegas Sidewinders series . This one took me a bit to get into. I wasn't sure about Jared and Renee in the beginning, but the more I read the more I began to like them. I soon found myself hooked. I loved that Renee is a romance writer so that was really intriguing for me. Jared and Renee definitely burn up the pages with their chemistry. Jared and Renee deal with real life issues. That's one of the things I liked about this book is that it felt realistic. The characters go through some tough things, but they have will and love to make it. Jared is thrown for a curve ball he ever saw coming, but to me I think it makes him a better man. Brings out the best in him. Jared and Renee both have experienced tragedy in their lives, but will they grab their second chance at love or will their fears stumble them along the way?

I've been sitting here for a little bit trying to figure out how I wanted to write this review. While I enjoyed this book I also didn't love it. I enjoyed getting to read a book where the hero and heroine were a bit older. Getting to know both Jared and Renee was a treat. They both were established and enjoying life. What I think bothered me the most was that there just seemed to be so much going on. It helped with the family dynamic and getting to know everyone involved. But between Renee/Jared, Daisy/Zio, and Braden there was A LOT going on. The book was also a bit slow. But I did love that you felt like you were actually mixed up in their everyday life. It's also fun to see characters from some of the past books. Makes me want to go back and read what I haven't. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

A little order, alot wiser, yet no more prepared. Can falling love be sweeter the second time around? Mizera takes a stab at a mature romance with Jared. Past regrets, heartbreaking losses and a surprising turn of events, give a former hockey star and a fiesty, widow, a new beginning at love. Jared focuses is an emotional journey of sacrifice, heartache and healing. With characters that strive to be realistic and a story that stirs the heart, Jared finds strength in the flaws that remind us to be human.
