Karlien Badenhorst het in ’n mostertgeel huis in Barberton groot geword tussen die Makhonjwa-berge. Dit was in daardie huis waar haar droom as skrywer begin wortelskiet het. Sy leef haarself lekker by alle stories in en skryf daarom stories wat sy graag wil lees. Vir haar is die fiktiewe wêreld immers net ’n gedagte ver van die realiteit. Sy het haar studentejare – BA (Tale) – op Potchefstroom voltooi en is in 2016 met haar studenteliefde getroud wat haar ná agt jaar steeds elke dag laat lag. As jong getroudes woon hulle nou in Pretoria en hoop om eendag ’n hond of twee te kry. Man van die maand is haar eerste romanse in die Romanza-reeks.
