Karen Erickson grew up in central Minnesota and loves the outdoors. Today, she lives in the country near Howard Lake, Minnesota with her husband Kevin and their children Tony, Kaylee and Stephanie. When she was sixteen years old, she was in a car accident. Along with some injuries that affected her later on in life, she suffered a traumatic brain injury that left her in a coma for a short while. She had numerous mishaps throughout the years that made the side effects associated with this type of injury worse. Her doctors are amazed that she can function as well as she does due to her extensive injuries. She enjoys animals, fishing, gardening, raising chickens and visiting with family and friends. She loves her dogs. They are always with her wherever she goes. She has volunteered a lot throughout her life and continues to have the desire to help the less fortunate. She was inspired to write this book by her e-mail update readers during Kevin’s illness. Her hopes are to make a difference in someone’s life by opening the door of their trials.
