I found some riffs to be a little strange for blues, but you never know. Personally I think you would be better off finding old recordings with Willie Dixon on bass, and learning those bass lines. No discussion of pocket or feel, which are the most important (IMO) for the blues. If you can make whole notes and rests groove, the you are on your way.
