About this ebook

I should never have touched her. I didn't know she's my best friend's little sister. When I found out... well... My life went off the rails, and we didn't see each other again.

Now three years later, we're in the same small town, and she hates my guts. But when her ex won't take no for an answer, it's me she improbably reaches out to for help.

Sure we can fake a relationship to keep him off her back. We've done it before. Except there's nothing fake about the heat between us. Or the very real threat from my past that's the true reason I ghosted her. Maybe she'll finally give me the chance to explain.

I'll do anything to protect her, even face down her brother for a second chance

If I have to say I think "Before Highland Sunset" is a light romantic suspense. It means that the book leans on more romance than suspense which I'm okay with it since romantic suspense hasn't been one of my favorite tropes for a while now. Alex and Ciara's story is a fake relationship but it also combines with a second chance and brother's best friend as well. I like that Alex and Ciara have a second chance to be together and the idea Kait Nolan put some suspicious stuffs through the story is quite brilliant. I know that Alex has a secret which comes with his job but I'm still impressed by Nolan's excellent twisted plot because I have to guess who and what will happen next through Alex and Ciara's blossoming romance. I love Nolan's Scotland series and Special Ops Scots is as good as the previous one. Can't wait for Callum and Parker's story!

Ms. Nolan has done it again! What an amazing read!! As an ARC reader, this is my honest opinion. Using authentic speech, made me feel like I was there. Going back to Glenlaig, back to the castle and reacquainted with the wonderful characters was like going back for another vacation. The intrigue built around the retired men of the Royal Marines was great! Figuring out who was the bad guy took an unexpected twist which should definitely keep readers wanting to turn the pg. No cheating or cliff

About the author

Kait Nolan is a USA Today best selling, RITA® Award-winning Mississippi author who calls everyone sugar, honey, or darlin', and can wield a 'Bless your heart' like a Snuggie or a saber, depending on requirements. She believes in love, laughter, and that tacos are the world's most perfect food. When she's not writing, reading, or wrangling family (both the two-legged and the four-), you can find her obsessively watching The Great British Bake Off. You can check out her darker alter ego Harper Jackson for romantic suspense.
