About this ebook

Julie grew up in the heart of Dublin’s north inner city, in Sheriff Street. Living in this tough area, she was exposed to crime and drugs. She started using heroin when she was 16. By the time she was 18 she was a chronic addict. This story details how she spent the next four years living on the streets of Dublin; dealing drugs and stealing to feed her habit. It is a snapshot of how a young girl became a victim of circumstances. It happened in Dublin, but it could have happened anywhere in the world. Her life was saved by a chance encounter with a drugs counsellor who brought her to first to London, and then to America where she de-toxed and slowly began to rebuild her life.

Terribly written. short boring sentences and doesn't go into much detail at all. Couldn't even be bothered finishing it even though I normally find drug addiction memoirs really interesting.

As an avid reader, and a support worker in my community I was drawn to Julie's story straight away, very articulate down to earth woman, ,I read this in a few hours,I won't need a copy as iv just used play books, ebooks.Their is always always hope ,if Julie can come out the other side, any one can,no matter their circumstances,...You will not be disappointed when you read her story, well worth a read....I honestly could not put this down, till the very last page, and I have studied many books, and researched addiction.... In memory of my mam and my sister ,who did not make it......

it's nice to read an autobiography of someone who fell into darkness and triumphed over it in the end. I love the honesty and how personal it felt down to the language used. gives us first hand insight to understanding people's struggles.
