I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has some genuine laugh-out-loud moments. The author comes across as what I imagine a typical Aussie is like - he certainly likes a beer, takes the mickey out of everyone, is not afraid of a little self deprecation, and obviously had a great time on this trip with his family. If you're wanting a light-hearted and heart-warming read, with some genuine dollops of humor then you'd enjoy Campervan Kama Sutra.

I bought this book after reading another of this author's science fiction books. This is obviously a true tale, but no less funny. It was a very entertaining travel-log of a 3 month trip through the Aussie outback. Reading it during a cold English winter made me very jealous. I want to go to the Kimberly! Very funny and engaging.

I bought this book after trying another of this author's works, which was very funny. This was even funnier. My wife banned me from reading it in bed because I kept laughing so much and waking her up. I’ve read plenty of Bill Bryson books in the past, and this loses only a little in comparison. No, I’m not exaggerating. It’s reasonable short, but entertainingly written, with local anecdotes and cultural references occasionally adding a bit of meat on the bones of the travel anecdotes. A perfect read for your commute.
