About this ebook

NO ONE EVER FORGETS MEETING THE SISTERS STRANGE ...

The Furies: mythological snake-haired goddesses of vengeance, pursuers of those who have committed unavenged crimes. Now, private investigator Charlie Parker is drawn into a world of modern furies in two linked stories.

In The Sisters Strange, the return of the criminal Raum Buker to Portland, Maine brings with it chaos and murder, as an act of theft threatens not only to tear apart his own existence but also that of Raum's former lovers, the enigmatic sisters Dolors and Ambar Strange.

And in The Furies Parker finds himself fighting to protect two more women as the city of Portland shuts down in the face of a global pandemic, but it may be that his clients are more capable of taking care of themselves than anyone could have imagined . . .

From the number one Sunday Times and multi-million-copy bestselling author John Connolly comes the most compelling and unsettling Charlie Parker novel yet.

'Masterly genre-splicing thrillers . . . Connolly's grip is inexorable' Financial Times

'Charlie Parker . . . is one of modern crime fiction's most popular creations, a unique combination of a man who has one foot in the temporal world and the other in the spirit world' Irish Independent

'John Connolly is the creator of a unique blend of thriller and horror who receives rave reviews every time' Sunday Telegraph

The Charlie Parker novels can be read and enjoyed in any order. The Furies is the landmark twentieth book in this globally bestselling series.

I was once the biggest John connolly fan. But then he changed his writing style from 1st person to third person (and with this book he seems to have drifted back to 1st) but along with the change in perspective he as thr narrator together with his characters started to overuse the words former and latter, and I keep expecting it now in the books. So I'm doing like a mental count while I'm reading and it usually go up to 10 "latters" then I'm out. If someone can let me know when he stops using former and latter, then I'll start reading his books again.

Bought this a while ago, read it in 2 days. Both stories are very good. I was expecting The Collector to reappear... I will read it again like all the others. Sisters Strange during covid was excellent btw🇮🇪
