About this ebook

Love begins in Lake Bittersweet ...

Out in the forest, wilderness guide Galen Cooper’s skill is legendary. But put him anywhere near gorgeous newcomer Brenda McMurray and he can barely remember how to speak. Yup, he’s got a crush, and he’s got it bad. But a traumatic childhood has left him unfit for civilization, let alone a classy beauty like Brenda. If his wild and wooly appearance doesn’t scare the new teacher off, surely his odd combination of shy and brusque will.

Brenda’s move to Lake Bittersweet came after a personal loss; now she finds comfort and solace in the small town. Being near her free-spirited granny is just what she needs, even if the sassy senior is determined to meddle in her business. Maybe it’s odd that her granny’s sex life is better than hers, but Brenda’s too busy for dating, what with her work and a certain secret project.

When a local senior’s last request sends her and Galen on a wilderness adventure, they discover far more than the wonders of nature. Sure, their chemistry is as surprising as it is combustible, but can a mountain man and a fourth-grade teacher ever have a future? Maybe...if Galen can face his past. And if Brenda’s secret doesn’t blow up in her face. And if a simple crush can change two lives forever.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the author. Later, I purchased a copy. Brenda is a sweet teacher but a wild child at heart. Galen is lost and is alone most times. He feels things so very deeply. He is working to make himself better. He has a huge crush on Brenda but is too shy to act. I love Galen's personality. I love his steadfast heart and his love of family and community. I love how he and Brenda connect and how they mesh together. This story is well written with likeable characters and great details. I can not wait for Galen's brother Billy's book.

This was an entertaining read that ticked all the boxes for me. From the first chapter to the last I was hooked on Galen Cooper and Brenda McMurray’s story. Brenda is new in town and the sparks fly when she and Galen meet. I loved everything about The Crush, it made me feel good and don’t get me started on the witty banter. The Crush is a heartwarming romantic lover story that held me captive from the first chapter..

Galen is now my new favorite Cooper sibling. This book sucked me in from the beginning and I read it in one sitting. Readers get ready for an emotional, beautifully written story about two people that have been hurt in the past but are perfect for each other. Galen has had a crush on Brenda since he saw her taking her stuff into the elementary school as a new fourth grade teacher. Luckily, Olaf finally brings them face to face, when he gets away from Brenda and dashes into Galen’s office intent
