One dare. Four dates. Only their hearts to lose...

No serious relationships. This is the one rule Tara Park made for herself and it has been working swimmingly, especially since she's busy with Weldon Brewery. But when Seth Kim, temptation personified and her best friend's new brother-in-law walks into her life, Tara might be willing to bend her golden rule . . . but only for four dates, which she agreed to after a few good rounds of beer - and a game of truth or dare.

Seth Kim can't believe Tara agreed to his dating dare. He's leaving for a new job in Paris in a month and a no-strings attached fling seemed like a nice distraction for both . . . But while their dates have a tendency to hit roadblocks, their non-dates and chance meetings are becoming frequent - and heated. What was supposed to be a little fun game is turning into something that neither is ready for.

But sometimes, the best things in life are the ones we never see coming.

3.75⭐ The Dating Dare is an easy and somewhat fluffy romance. That certainly entertained me throughout. I just didn't really connect with the characters particularly Tara. But, with lots of sugary sweetness it was definitely a charming way to spend an afternoon. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via St Martin's Press in exchange for an honest review**

4 Star review The Dating Dare ( Sweet Mess #2) by Jayci Lee Jayci Lee is a relatively new author to me and I am surprised I have not read more of her books before now. This was an enjoyable read with characters who were easy to like. When her best friend Aubrey marries Landon, Tara Parks is brought into contact with the brother of the groom Seth Kim. Both Tara and Seth have baggage from the past and neither are looking for a committed relationship, or are they? Seth is moving to Paris so the last things he wants or needs is to fall in love with Tara. However what starts out as a casual fling soon becomes complicated. I loved the banter that flowed between Tara and Seth and it was entertaining to watch their relationship progress. The Dating Dare is a story with humour, steam, miss communication and some great secondary characters. I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

I enjoyed this romance with moments of hilarity and I hooted with laughter at the explanation of the difference between ogling and gawking! However, there were times when I was unable to connect Tara's painful background with her behavior and found parts of the plot unpalatable. Both Tara and Seth are carrying baggage and with an exciting future ahead of him, Seth is not in the market for a permanent relationship. Having won his four dates with Tara, Seth discovers that he is more invested than he would have anticipated. Although it seems as if the wheels were going to come off when the relationship looked as if it was going to become serious, it does make Tara reach deep inside and break down the barriers holding her back. Ultimately this entertaining romance does come to a good conclusion, a copy of which I received as a gift through NetGalley and this is my voluntary review.
