Anita and Jason are both having relationship growing pains and they have concocted a seduction to help explain the unexplainable in this mesmerizing paranormal romance. How do you explain the differences in situations that are unexplainable…you provide a demonstration to show the differences and hopefully not offend, insult or drive the other party/parties away. The story steps away from the violent part of Anita’s life and concentrates on the passionate part and if you read this series you understand that sometimes it is the more adventurous and complex side and this story provides great insight to the f/f part of Anita and J.J’s sex life and the rough sex part of Anita and Jason’s life. The Anita Blake series is one of my favorites because it is so complex, passionate and thrilling that I can’t help but get caught up in the stories and this one is no different. The last book wasn't so bad and it felt like she was getting back into characters and less into long discussions about who wants to have sex with who and why alongside lots of nothing but sex... and then this book went right back into sex. I like sex... I like having sex in my romance novels, but it's got to make the story a richer landscape because of the sex or it's just plain erotica, not a novel or short story...

Reads as an erotic short/tutorial for negotiating sex acts be it between m/f, f/f, or multiple partners of any combination. Felt like we were 'thrown a bone' to tide us over. Would rather wait longer for a great read like Affliction. That said, best part was hints into Envy's and Jade's characters. Looking forward to more plotting!
