"Waar zit die jongen nou toch?" De ouders van Ties worden er soms wanhopig van. Ties weet zich goed te verstoppen in het hotel waar hij woont. Er zijn zoveel goede plekken: de afwaskeuken, het toneelzaaltje of een van de twaalf wc's. Zijn ouders zijn altijd druk, maar dat geeft niet want Ties heeft zijn vrienden. Zoals Rudolf, de kelner die hem leert goochelen, mevrouw Beers van de afwaskeuken en natuurlijk haar dochter Mitsie. ALs mevrouw Beers van diefstal beschuldigt wordt, gelooft Ties daar niets van. Hij gaat op zoek naar de echte dader!
