Seven years ago, he lost everything and Elijah Hunt wants revenge but when he kidnaps the daughter of the man who ruined his life, he gets way more than he bargained for in this exciting contemporary romance. Violet never thought she would feel a connection to her captor but there’s something beneath that steel bodied exterior that calls to her and the readers can’t help but get caught up in the tension and fireworks that explode when Elijah finds himself wondering if he’s in control or has Violet imprisoned him body and soul. Their attraction has some pretty heated sparks flying in every direction which adds to the fireworks of this relationship that is full of secrets, emotional turmoil and revenge and these strong compelling characters have no problem drawing readers into their story and gripping their hearts with the turbulence that stems from the past as well as what is happening in the present in this steady to fast paced and smooth flowing plot full of suspense, excitement, turmoil and romance. The story immediately grips readers with the spine tingling certainty that something big is about to happen and anticipation keeps the tension building as Violet and Elijah struggle with their unwanted desires while in a very intense situation. The scenes are well written and bring the story to life while the intriguing events ensure that the readers are hooked until the very end with unexpected twists adding a few surprises along the way. I found myself wondering what I would do in this type of situation because I could certainly empathize with the characters and yes, down and dirty is certainly the way to go in this instance but the story is also about overcoming some serious emotional hang-ups that have taken control of both of these characters. This is the first story that I have read in this series and the author provided enough information throughout that I had no trouble picking up what the series is about, although I definitely feel as if I have missed out on a lot, so I will be taking care of that.

A captivating story of revenge, forbidden love, and best laid plans getting completely blown up. This fourth book in the Circle of Nines series is easily read standalone while it is still connected with the other books in the series, the characters are not as entwined as they were in the prior books. Once Zane "Elijah" Hunter had it all. A beautiful loving wife and a life full of promise. That was all stripped away from him and after seven long years revenge is within reach. After kidnapping the daughter of the man responsible for the ruin of his life, Elijah quickly discovers she's not exactly what he was expecting and revenge may not be as sweet as he once thought. Elijah and Violet have a connection that is intense, powerful, and erotic. Who will have the ultimate revenge?? Definitely a book I recommend.

Elijah lives a life relegated to the shadows. He thrives on the darkness that lurks in soul, stuck with only his memories to keep him warm. There is no other way to describe Violet other than clueless. The people she trusted were not what they seemed and now she is faced with the consequences. Or is she? Jackie Ashenden is known for her wickedly sensual stories. Her romances are right on that edge between naughty and sweet. Kidnapped by the Billionaire is full of surprising twists and anguish but it is also a redemption story. In Violet, Ms. Ashenden brings Elijah that light of hope loss to him in his dark quest for revenge. In Elijah, she brings Violet a savior and protector from all the untrustworthiness she experienced in her life. I requested a copy of this novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Kidnapped by the Billionaire is a story of hope built in a world of hopelessness.
