I love Nikki and Damien. This is a fabulous couple that we keep getting to spend time with and experience all of life’s ups and downs with. In this novella, Nikki’s mother is back and trying to find forgiveness with Nikki for all the craziness she has done in the past. We are also counting down to the birth of their third child, a baby boy. The love they share is just as intense and amazing full of passion and devotion. I always feel like I’m reading about friends when I step into their lives.

The is a very quick, well written story with a cliffhanger-esque type of ending. The sweet moments, the low angst, the fun banter between Nike and Damien, it’s all there. I love Nikki and Damien, and I love that the author has been able to successfully continue their story, but I think I might be over all the little novellas about their family. It’s great that their story has evolved, and while the chemistry is still there, I miss the ultra steamy sexy times from the beginning, and honestly I’m not a super fan of kids in my romance stories especially when they start playing bigger roles in the storyline. I will say, if the storyline continues down this path, I hope we get to see the oldest daughter, Lara, start dating, and get to see how Damien handles that.

"He had a son. He had a wife, two beautiful daughters, and a son who kept his own timetable and had one heck of a set of lungs. Dear God, how did he deserve this?" Can we really ever have enough of Damien and Nikki? It think not. They have the perfect love that I think everyone has imagined, and no matter what life throws at them, no matter how hard it gets, they always come through it stronger and more in love than before, if that's even possible. This one had the joys of awaitng the arrival of Baby Boy Stark, the return of an old friend, and a blooming romance. It also has the re-appearance of someone Nikki never wanted to see again. Her mother. What is she up to? Can she be trusted, or is her appearance just part of a larger scheme? This was a quick read but just leaves you jonesing for the next book!
