Originally published in 1994, this text looks at the relevance of Alfred North Whitehead with a collection of philosophical essays on his ideas. He was a scientist-a mathematician and physicist. Then, on the eve of his retirement as professor of applied mathematics in the University of London, at the age of 63, he commenced his second career, as professor of philosophy in Harvard University.
