ईश्वरचंद्र में पिता केसमस्त गुण मौजूद थे। जन्म के समय उनकी जन्मपत्री दिखाने पर पंडित ने बताया था—‘यह बैल की तरह अड़ियल बनेगा; लेकिन प्रसिद्ध; ईमानदार और सत्यमार्गी भी होगा।’
