About this eBook

Scions have no limits

Scions do not die

And Scions do not disappear

Sergeant Ted Regan has a problem. A son of one of the great corporate families, a Scion, has gone missing at the front. He should have been protected by his Ironclad – the lethal battle suits that make the Scions masters of war – but something has gone catastrophically wrong.

Now Regan and his men, ill-equipped and demoralised, must go behind enemy lines, find the missing Scion, and uncover how his suit failed. Is there a new Ironcladkiller out there? And how are common soldiers lacking the protection afforded the rich supposed to survive the battlefield of tomorrow?

A new standalone novella by the Arthur C Clarke Award-winning author of Children of Time.

His worst writing, mixed with excessively preachy left wing tropes. I'm willing to cede that all governments are corrupt or all corporations only care about investors' profits or whatever keeps you from admitting that people are just very often selfish and hateful, but come on, captialist governments are all bad, all corporations are evil, and socialist governments are honorable, wonderful organizations that really are looking out for their citizens best interest? Even that would not ruin a decent read, but harping on about it on EVERY SINGLE PAGE does. It's also just not his best writing. Read his "Dogs of War" or the "Children of Time" series instead.

Interesting world, well drafted characters, slice of life timeline. If this were in a compilation or part of a longer series (looking at you Murderbot) it would be great. As is it's an excellent example of Tchaikovsky's mastery of the genre, and that's about it. Needed fleshing out, and an exploration of more themes than just war and capitalism.

Sadly just a Cash Grab. Really liked the storyline, then was severely disappointed an hour later as the book was so short. Extremely short for the price!!!
