In 1918, Armenia declared independence, but it was short-lived as the country was occupied by the Soviet Union in 1920. Armenia regained independence in 1991 following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Today, Armenia is a rapidly developing country with a diverse economy and a rich cultural heritage.
