作者简介

Jenny Siklos has be working with international students since 1999, when she started teaching in London. After moving back to the US in 2005, she began teaching at the Madison English as a Second Language School in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. She teaches in an EAP program, helping students prepare to go into university programs. She has also been working as an Examiner at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 2013. She has written Collins Work on your Handwriting. She is always trying to help her students avoid problems before they get into university settings, with a focus on helping to build language skills while improving cultural reference knowledge and critical thinking skills. She is currently finishing her MEd in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum with an emphasis in TESOL at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Dr Fiona Price has been working with international students since 1992 and has studied in France and China. She has been running her own consultancy specialising in advice and training on international student issues to university staff since 2001. Her other work in the field includes providing pastoral care and academic support to international students at International House Melbourne and managing the Centre for Intercultural Development at the University of Melbourne. Her reference book Success with Asian Names was published in 2007.

Els Van Geyte has been working at the English for International Students Unit at the University of Birmingham for over a decade, and has been teaching on presessional, insessional, and undergraduate courses. She has authored books in the Collins English for Exams series: Reading for IELTS, and Get Ready for IELTS Reading, and in the Academic Skills Series: Writing: Learn to write better academic essays. Having been an international student in the UK herself, she is keen to advise and support students during their studies.

Anneli Williams is EAP teacher and course director at the University of Glasgow, where she has designed and taught English for Academic Purposes and study skills courses since 1995. She has authored three books for Collins: two books in the Collins English for Exams Series: Writing for IELTS and Vocabulary for IELTS and Research in the Collins Academic Skills Series.
