The mighty Culture has become analogous to British Intelligence it seems, in this book. Or what some British authors of the genre perpetrating to be accurate representations of British Intelligence. A cloak and dagger approach that hides a superior, almost invincible power over every other culture in the Universe.

Through this awesome SciFi series, Ian M Banks provides astute criticism
and suggestions for human kind. Not to mention providing some great yarns
along the way.

Not one of my favourite culture novels but definitely worth a read. Fascinating depiction of a virtual hell and I love the thought of abominator class culture warships with psychotic tendencies.

About the author
Iain Banks (1954-2013) came to widespread and controversial public notice with the publication of his first novel, The Wasp Factory, in 1984. Consider Phlebas, his first science fiction novel, was published under the name Iain M. Banks in 1987 and began his celebrated ten-book Culture series. He is acclaimed as one of the most powerful, innovative and exciting writers of his generation.
