His Eyes

Noah works hard as a nursing assistant, and finds he has a special affinity with the coma patients. They're unresponsive to most everyone, yet he likes to chat and read to them, his young and perhaps naive heart believing that they respond to care and company. He's even developed troublesome feelings for one of them.

Christopher is the young victim of an unusual and terrifying attack - and the troublesome issue is because no one knows if Christopher will ever fully recover. An added complication is that Noah already has a boyfriend, Jake, though it's become clear to almost everyone except Noah himself that the older, more sophisticated Jake doesn't have the time or care for Noah, like Noah has for his patients.

Now it's Halloween month, Noah has to travel around London a lot, on his own, in the dark, and at who-knows-what risk... to say nothing of the glaring red Eyes now appearing, following him everywhere in the darkness. Most unnerving of all, he has to wonder, are they trying to communicate - or to find prey?
