Widow Lola Engel owns the only fancy shoe store in Hellfire, Texas, but selling shoes to housewives can be a tad boring. To add a little spice to her life, she sets her sights on the young Chance Grayson, a firefighter she’d like to light up her sheets. Only when she sets the stage for a sexy rescue, Grayson’s partner takes the call.
Daniel Flannigan doesn’t have the patience to play games. He’s a serious firefighter and he has a problem with trumped up calls that take time and effort away from real emergencies. When a particularly sexy widow cries wolf once too often, he takes the call with the intention of teaching the woman a valuable lesson.
In the end, they might both be schooled when the heat rises, igniting a flame neither expected to burn.
Note: This is a SHORT story of 9800 words, a prequel to Playing with Fire where Lola and Daniel get their full story.

Elle James - Hellfire in High Heels (Part 1) (Hellfire Series - Book 4 - Novella) Stars: 4 - because it is a two part story Heat Level: Hot, Hot, Hot Hellfire in High Heels – Part 1 A wonderful prelude to the full-length Novel “Playing With Fire” which is due out on January 22, 2019. I for one, am happy to have an introduction of Widow Lola Engel and Fireman Daniel Flannigan. The story is funny and sexy as HE$$. Lola is about 12 years older than Daniel and was attempting to get Chance Grayson’s attention and not Daniel. The creative ways in which Lola, a local shoe store owner, attempts to get the attention of Chance with as many 911 calls of staged mishaps, all in Designer spiked high heels, will have you LOL. The last 911 call she made she was stranded on her roof in her high heels and its Daniel took the call since all the other firefighters were out on a real call. Daniel just wanted to get the widow to stop making 911 calls. When Lola begin to tease Daniel must decide if he should put her over his shoulder and show her that he can ignite her with White-Hot Flame that she wasn’t expecting. Find out what Daniel decides to do with the sexy Lola. I volunteered to read an ARC for an honest review.

This is a super fun fast hot read from the very talented Elle James. Lola Engel's has been widowed for 6 years and though she doesn't want another true love she does want a hot passionate encounter with Chance Grayson (yes one of the Grayson brothers) Consequently she keeps phoning 911 on fake call outs Chance is totally clueless about what is going on but his partner Daniel Flannigan has this woman all figured out and decides it is time to teach her a lesson only thing is he gets schooled by this hot as sin older woman This is a super hot prequel and I am now hanging out for the full story in Playing With Fire Daniel and Lola's story

This is book 4 in the Hellfire, Texas series and it features Lola and Daniel. There’s no stopping a determined woman like Lola when she wants something or someone. Her shenanigans were hilarious. This spark might just burn hotter than an actual fire. I can’t wait to read their story in the next Hellfire, Texas book.

Elle James was born in Spokane, Washington on Fairchild Air Force Base. She grew up as a military brat moving around quite often from places like Glasgow, Montana, Abilene, Texas and California.
