Where do I start.... The courage of these nine women, (Helena, Zaza, Nicole, Madelon, Guigui, Zinka, Josee, Jacky and Mena) is utterly unbelievable. Just to imagine what they went through absolutely blows me away, so unbelievably cruel. I loved the bond between them all! The encouragement they they constantly gave each other was phenomenal. The bravery is indescribable. It was written so well, every single little detail broke my heart more and more. Don't get me wrong it made me so angry that they had to endure all of this. A highly recommend book. A subject that has always been a interest of mine.

Her poetry, short stories and essays have appeared in numerous places including The New Republic, New England Review, Kenyon Review, London Sunday Times and Catapult.
