In this novel about music, love, and creativity, Hermann Hesse weaves a tale of loss and redemption. Hermann Hesse (1877-1962), the German novelist, essayist, and poet, is universally considered one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century. His works include "Steppenwolf," "Siddhartha," and "Narcissus and Goldmund." Hesse was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1946.
