The Shepherd family have set off on their usual summer holiday under a cloud of gloom at the predictability of it all. When the car breaks down, they are forced to stay the night at the nearest B&B. Stranded in this bizarre environment, unusual friendships develop and the relationships that have been so set in their ways are turned upside down.
