The book begins with a sparkling introduction that tells the readers all that they need to know about this budding novelist. We quickly learn that the author, with a mind of her own, is not all that ‘budding’, having penned her first novel long, long ago when she was all of seven. Now she is a ‘mature’ fifteen year old, multifaceted personality, with many accomplishments to her credit. Author’s own introduction is fun to read offering a glimpse into her creative mind and the circumstances that led to the successful launch of this highly promising novel. Now, what sort of novel would you expect from a cheery fifteen year old girl? You would (I did anyway), of course, expect lots of spirited child- adventurers cracking mysteries involving trap doors, dark passages, and adult villains doing nefarious activities, etc. etc. a la Enid Blyton books. Or else, perhaps a beautiful princess, a dashing prince, magic spells, flying horses, rainbows, and dragons –all bright and happy except for a brief, mandatory distressful interlude before the happy ending. Sorry to say that all your (my) predictions go wrong horribly. There is not even a shred of such predictable, old fashioned stuff in this novel. What you have is a beginning with dark forebodings- children who have lost their mother, father who is missing from home for long spells, children left to their own devices, ominous injuries on their father’s body when he occasionally returns home from his mysterious missions, and such things. More than anything, there is the dark, brooding presence of the forest behind the house, which the father has forbidden his children to enter, repeatedly telling them of the dangers that lurk in it. But children are children. Because it is forbidden, its allure becomes too much to resist. And finally, the forest with its ‘Siren Song ’, succeeds in enticing the children and takes them in. Telling anything more will be cruel and unjust to those who are yet to read this highly suspenseful novel. But they should be prepared for the arduous journey with the protagonist into the dark, misty, mysterious and creepy forest, braving the unexpected dangers at every turn and twist of this tale, on their way to the forbidden destination.

Forbidden Destiny has the capability of bringing alive each and every page and having the scenes and characters literally bouncing out of the page. I'm still reeling from the narrative. I had this book read out to me, which can be pretty letting down if the book is boring, but this book is fast paced with shocks in every chapter! My favourite character is totally Fiera! I love the others too. It will remain my favourite book forever and ever! Love the pedoriall world! Wish it really existed.

It's a book that holds some deep meanings. It's not just another fantasy book but talks about hope ,love and the true meaning of life.. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the pedorial world with a view of science and a tang of humour filled with thrill and excitement.. this one is definitely a must read #waitingforthenextpart!
