False Witness tells the story of a lawyer Leigh who is charged with defending a rapist, Andrew. Whilst Leigh knows Andrew is guilty he holds a power over her by knowing about some dark secrets of her own. Whilst I enjoyed this thriller I found that it was quite a slow read and took me a while to get through. The plot was good but I think that some of the chapters were a bit too long for my preference as it slowed the pace down a bit. It was interesting to see that Covid has now started making an appearance in novels. With the novel being mainly set in 2021 it was necessary to include coronavirus and I enjoyed seeing examples of our current life in print. However sometimes it felt a bit overkill and that I was reading a story about the pandemic rather than reading a thriller - I don't need to be told every single time somebody puts a mask on for example! Overall it was a good book, but personally I felt that the pace was a bit slow.

Totally different and weak compared to her other books. Writing was too simple and plot too drawn out. Sadly found it boring, would not recommend at all.

Ensimmäinen epidemia ajan kuvaus jonka olen lukenut. Järkyttävä ja koskettava. Herätti tunteita ja ajatuksia. Itkin kun pikkutyttö jolta vietiin tikkari Callien kohtalon takia. Pojot Karin Slaughterille. Paras kirja mitä oon lukenut pitkään aikaan ja oon lukenut todella paljon
