F. Chegdani received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from “Arts et Métiers Institute of Technology (France) in 2016 after working on the multiscale analysis of the machining of biocomposites. He rejoined “Arts et Métiers Institute of Technology as an associate professor after taking a short visiting research scholar position at Texas A&M University in the States. His main areas of research include characterization of the cutting behavior of biocomposites, which has allowed him to acquire a rich scientific background in the fundamental analysis of the complex structure of biocomposites through different experimental and numerical analysis techniques and approaches. He has written 23 publications (including 4 chapters in the Encyclopedia of Materials: Composites Elsevier) and has co-supervised 2 PhD programs in the field of the manufacturing of biocomposites
M. El Mansori is a Professor at the Arts et Métiers Institute of Technology (ENSAM) in France where he leads the Mechanics, Surfaces and Material Processing (MSMP) Laboratory (EA 7350). He is also a Research Professor at the Texas A&M University (TAMU) in the USA, where he is Program Director of the TEES–TAMU–ENSAM joint research cluster. His current research interests include the interface of thermo-mechanic characteristics of both metallic and composite materials and the physics behind their tribological and manufacturing performances. Research carried out by M. El Mansori and his team has generated more than 270 papers in international journals. M. El Mansori was the section editor of “Nature Based and Inspired Composite Materials as part of “Encyclopedia of Materials: Composites published by Elsevier.
Professor Mouritz is a world-leading expert on composite materials, having worked in field as an academic and defence researcher for over 25 years and published 5 books, nearly 20 book chapters and over 150 journal papers on composites. Dr Mouritz is a leading authority on the explosive blast response of composite materials and structures.
Suresh Advani is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Associate Director of the Center for Composite Materials at the University of Delaware, USA.
Dr. Chun Wang is a Principal Research Scientist and the Head of Composite and Low-Observable Structures in the Air Vehicles Division, DSTO, Australia. He has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK. Prior to joining DSTO in 1995, he held academic positions at the University of Sheffield (UK), the University of Sydney (Australia) and Deakin University (Australia). His main research expertises are in the areas of fatigue and fracture mechanics, composite structures, bonded structural repairs, and scattering of acoustic and electromagnetic waves. He has published over eighty journal articles and book chapters, and over eighty conference papers.
