About this ebook

Key Selling Points
  • This picture book presents a number of different scenarios demonstrating the concepts "in" and "out" that start off simple and broaden into funny and playful interpretations.
  • Shows how different perspectives and closer inspection can influence how one perceives a scene—as the reader is presented with less predictable examples of "in" and "out," they'll be challenged to look more closely and think creatively about what might be "in" and what might be "out," instead of choosing the most obvious solution.
  • Accessible to readers at many levels because of the nearly wordless text, but presents concepts that are interesting to a wide range of age levels.
  • Salini Perera's warm, inviting illustrations bring out the humor and sweetness of the scenes, and she is skilled at crafting varied and engaging compositions that keep readers interested.
  • Elizabeth Withey is an author, journalist and visual artist. Her first picture book was Orca's The One with the Scraggly Beard, which was nominated for a Shining Willow award, and was on CCBC's list of Best Books for Kids and Teens.
