Edinburgh: Our Storied Town celebrates the city’s 900th anniversary, tracing its journey from medieval roots to modern literary prominence. Donald Smith’s richly researched narrative highlights Edinburgh’s evolution, complemented by Cath Outram’s stunning images, including Edinburgh Castle. While detailed, the book feels academic at times, lacking everyday stories and neighborhood charm. A treasure for history and literary enthusiasts, though its depth may be daunting for casual readers.
