Dr. Jaerock Lee was born in Muan, Jeonnam Province, Republic of Korea, in 1943. While in his twenties, Dr. Lee suffered from a variety of incurable diseases for seven years and awaited death with no hope for recovery. However one day in the spring of 1974 he was led to a church by his sister and when he knelt down to pray, the living God immediately healed him of all his diseases.
From the moment he met the living God through that wonderful experience, Dr. Lee has loved God with all his heart and sincerity, and in 1978 he was called to be a servant of God. He prayed fervently with countless fasting prayers so that he could clearly understand the will of God, wholly accomplish it and obey the Word of God. In 1982, he founded Manmin Central Church in Seoul, Korea, and countless works of God, including miraculous healings, signs and wonders, have been taking place at his church ever since.
In 1986, Dr. Lee was ordained as a pastor at the Annual Assembly of Jesus’ Sungkyul Church of Korea, and four years later in 1990, his sermons began to be broadcast in Australia, Russia, and the Philippines. Within a short time many more countries were being reached through the Far East Broadcasting Company, the Asia Broadcast Station, and the Washington Christian Radio System.
Three years later, in 1993, Manmin Central Church was selected as one of the “World’s Top 50 Churches” by the Christian World magazine (US) and he received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Christian Faith College, Florida, USA, and in 1996 he received his Ph. D. in Ministry from Kingsway Theological Seminary, Iowa, USA.
Since 1993, Dr. Lee has been spearheading world evangelization through many overseas crusades in Tanzania, Argentina, L.A., Baltimore City, Hawaii, and New York City of the USA, Uganda, Japan, Pakistan, Kenya, the Philippines, Honduras, India, Russia, Germany, Peru, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Israel and Estonia.
In 2002 he was acknowledged as a “worldwide revivalist” for his powerful ministries in various overseas crusades by major Christian newspapers in Korea. In particular was his ‘New York Crusade 2006’ held in Madison Square Garden, the most famous arena in the world. The event was broadcast to 220 nations, and in his ‘Israel United Crusade 2009’, held at the International Convention Center (ICC) in Jerusalem he boldly proclaimed Jesus Christ is the Messiah and Savior.
His sermons are broadcast to 176 nations via satellites including GCN TV and he was listed as one of the ‘Top 10 Most Influential Christian Leaders’ of 2009 and 2010 by the popular Russian Christian magazine In Victory and news agency Christian Telegraph for his powerful TV broadcasting ministry and overseas church-pastoring ministry.
